Color printed tinplate refers to electrolytic tinplate sheets with customized color patterns and protective coatings, widely adopted in food packaging, cosmetic tins, aerosol cans and decorative metal products. Different from ordinary paper printing, tinplate color printing is a professional lithographic offset printing process tailored for rigid metal surfaces, featuring strong adhesion, high color reproducibility and excellent post-processing flexibility.
The whole printing process follows standardized and rigorous procedures. First, tinplate sheets undergo strict surface cleaning and pre-baking to remove oil stains and impurities, ensuring a smooth and contamination-free base for ink adhesion. Then, a uniform white primer or base coat is applied and thermally cured, which brightens subsequent color layers and prevents ink peeling during later stamping and bending processes.
The core color printing stage adopts CMYK four-color offset lithography, matching professional color-separated printing plates. Each color is printed and cured separately with precise overprint positioning to present vivid, delicate and consistent patterns. For customized logos and special effects, spot color printing is available to meet personalized design demands. After color printing, a transparent protective varnish—glossy, matte or UV finish—is coated on the surface. This layer shields the ink from scratches, oxidation and corrosion, and improves the tinplate’s overall durability.
